On the 15th-17th of November, RVIS will be hosting the fifth OASIS JV Volleyball Championship. Schools from four other countries in the MENA region will be travelling to Bahrain to compete in this year’s tournament. RVIS joined the OASIS Activities Conference five years ago as founding member to promote:
Superior Athletic Competition
Student Leadership and Sportsmanship Development
The Conference consists of a total of Nine Schools from Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. These schools host the nine yearly OASIS events on a rotational basis. Last year RVIS hosted the Varsity Volleyball Championship with almost 300 participants involved with the event. In previous years RVIS has also hosted JV Football and JV Volleyball events.
During this school year, RVIS teams will have the opportunity to participate in a Football tournament in Cyprus in February, Basketball tournaments in Cairo and Abu Dhabi, as well as a Track and Field or Badminton tournament in Amman. We hope that students will embrace the opportunity to play these sports and participate in events like these; learning the values of teamwork, persistence, sportsmanship and effort while promoting enjoyment of exercise through sport.
