On November 28th and 29th from 6:30-8:00 pm, Riffa Views International School students will proudly present Shrek Jr. an all-school musical. Projects have been in motion to prepare for this day since August including set design, costume preparation, and prop-making. It all began with big plans to build new wooden backdrops for the stage. Mr. Luke Meinen and Mr. Stewart Pinkerton helped Ms. Davis build the new wooden structures that will now act as backdrops for RVIS performances. Students in the Set Design ASA have been working each Wednesday after school to help paint and decorate these sets. Attention was paid to every detail from the woodland creatures on the front of the stage, to the artwork in Fiona’s bedroom. Mrs. Yung, Mrs. Meinen and Ms. Cerro worked to complete objects like the suitcases for each magical character, Shrek’s Helmet, and books and scrolls used as props. Parents and teachers have been involved in helping students each step of the way in this amazing RVIS community. We know all our time, care, and effort will culminate in an amazing performance that you will not want to miss, and we hope to see you there!
