The U11 boys football teams competed in the BPSL football Tournament at St. Christopher’s school on the 13th November. This was the first time we have competed in this tournament and the players were incredibly excited, this excitement matched by coaches Blackbourn, Lloyd, Fields, Akins and young apprentice, Zein Elarabi. Schools from all corners of Bahrain were gathered at the Saar football fields, all hopeful of a strong showing. Our Dolphins put out two teams into the Tournament - RVIS United (made up of 4th and 5th graders) and RVIS City (made up exclusively of 3rd graders). The action was relentless, fast paced and intense. Mostly though it was a lot of FUN! Our boys had a blast and worked so hard for one another. To quote Mr Lloyd: ‘ Honestly super proud of the persistence and grit shown by the 3rd graders who worked hard from the first game until the last’. Abdullah, Abdulaziz, Mathew and Rashid were standout performers for the team; although all coaches agreed it was a mightily impressive team performance. RVIS United progressed all the way to the Semi Final stages where they were narrowly beaten by the St. Chris team. A 3rd place finish and bronze medals were their reward for a job well done! The whole team deserved credit - a collective effort. They conducted themselves well at all times and were a credit to the school. We have some wonderful student-athletes in the school and to be able to showcase our abilities so well is testament to everyone involved. Thank you to the players, coaches and also the Head of Football, Mr. Adam. These events mean so much to our students. To quote Rashed (take a look at the attached video): ‘You know who we are. We know who we are. They don’t know who we are!’ "You know who we are..."
