School Policies
Our policies create a foundation of clear expectations that help keep the RVIS community safe, respectful, and supportive. They draw on the International Baccalaureate (IB) philosophy, accreditation standards from the Council of International Schools (CIS), and Bahraini regulations.
Key Policies for New Families
Before joining RVIS, it’s important for families to understand the values that guide learning and community life.
Academic Integrity
Students are encouraged to take ownership of their learning by submitting their own work and respecting the ideas of others. This builds honesty, respect, and self-management—qualities central to the IB learner profile.
Assessment
Assessment is ongoing and varied, designed to give students multiple ways to show their understanding. Teachers share criteria ahead of time and provide feedback that helps students reflect, set goals, and grow.
Language
English is the main language of instruction, but we celebrate all languages. Students developing their English skills receive extra support while continuing to value their home language, especially Arabic. They also have opportunities to study French and Spanish.
Student Success
We offer tailored teaching strategies, accommodations, and interventions to help each student reach their potential. Plans are created collaboratively with students, teachers, and families to address individual needs and learning goals.
