Academic Program

Early Childhood
Early Childhood
Our Early Childhood program employs developmentally appropriate, holistic approach to teaching. It focuses on academics and social emotional growth. Throughout the program our team works hard to cultivate the inquisitive nature of children to encourage learning in all environments. The Nursery program at RVIS, offers the internationally recognized Reggio Emilia learning approach. The Nursery program is designed using an emergent curriculum where projects and themes are inspired by the children’s own interests.

Elementary
Elementary School
Offers an experiential curriculum that focuses on the development of the whole child through a wide-range of innovative teaching practices and activities. Teachers at RVIS also have a wide-range of teaching tools to enhance the learning for each student. We believe that children are motivated to learn when they experience success and develop their understanding. They make connections and build their learning around important concepts. In the elementary school student development is nurtured by highly trained, caring, passionate teachers and support staff.

Middle School
Middle School Curriculum
The RVIS middle school curriculum is relevant, challenging, integrative, and exploratory. It is based on challenging international standards and includes learning activities that create opportunities for students. The curriculum provides direction for what young adolescents should know and be able to do. It supports them to achieve the attitudes and behaviors needed for a full, productive, and satisfying life.

It’s that time of year again for our 3rd Annual Ramadan Food Drive. Our school community has done such an incredible job in the past helping those in need. Due to the circumstances we are currently facing with COVID-19, we are unable to repeat the food collection project. However, we would like to take the time to recall what we have done in the past.

Create a living museum. Build ancient monuments in Minecraft. Write a narrative story about Ancient Rome. Study the human geography of Mt. Everest. Write a case for or against the use of the Atom Bomb during WWII. Design a video about World Peace. These are the innovative, engaging and thought-provoking projects Dr. Bicker’s students are working on over the next month. Amazed? So are we!

Since its conception, LEVEL 5 has been a creative space, a place to innovate, and a place for authentic learning experiences. The LEVEL 5 mission and RVIS’s vision to “Lead the Future of Learning” share the common goal of activating the educational community in Bahrain, the MENA region, and beyond. This has been done through weekend workshops, community events exploring creativity, and TeachMeets (gatherings for teachers from around Bahrain and Saudi Arabia).
