Academic Program

Early Childhood
Early Childhood
Our Early Childhood program employs developmentally appropriate, holistic approach to teaching. It focuses on academics and social emotional growth. Throughout the program our team works hard to cultivate the inquisitive nature of children to encourage learning in all environments. The Nursery program at RVIS, offers the internationally recognized Reggio Emilia learning approach. The Nursery program is designed using an emergent curriculum where projects and themes are inspired by the children’s own interests.

Elementary
Elementary School
Offers an experiential curriculum that focuses on the development of the whole child through a wide-range of innovative teaching practices and activities. Teachers at RVIS also have a wide-range of teaching tools to enhance the learning for each student. We believe that children are motivated to learn when they experience success and develop their understanding. They make connections and build their learning around important concepts. In the elementary school student development is nurtured by highly trained, caring, passionate teachers and support staff.

Middle School
Middle School Curriculum
The RVIS middle school curriculum is relevant, challenging, integrative, and exploratory. It is based on challenging international standards and includes learning activities that create opportunities for students. The curriculum provides direction for what young adolescents should know and be able to do. It supports them to achieve the attitudes and behaviors needed for a full, productive, and satisfying life.

Last week saw the culmination of many weeks of hard work for our Dolphin Athletes. On Sunday, our U15 girls competed in their final league fixture of the season against a strong St. Chris team. Our girls battled hard throughout but were unable to push through for victory. Special praise for this team must be heaped on coach Meinin and Fry and the playing staff; the majority of this team were made up of girls from grade 6 who have learned a lot from their experience.

Students have been involved in a number of house activities lately, most recently, a trivia quiz bowl of general knowledge. This began with a preliminary stage to select a team from each house, and culminated in the representatives of each house competing in the final. Dilmun achieved victory in an exciting final, helping them to move up in the house leader board.
