Over the last seven months a group of 11th grade students have immersed themselves in a self-discovery journey through a Leadership Cohort mentored by our very own head of school, Ms. Jo Garrahy. The program has allowed each student to recognize and develop their strengths as well as showcase and grow attributes such as responsibility, confidence, time management, and organizational skills.

Students explored various leadership styles to find the one that most compatible with their personal character strengths, they developed a vision board and discovered their career aspirations, and most recently students have each found their very own internship placement.

Embedded within the year-long Leadership Cohort Seminar is a six-week internship. Each student submitted a proposal for their desired internship and once approved had to seek out the internship themselves, drafting letters, submitting resumes, and conducting interviews etc. All students have been successfully able to enroll in an internship of their choice. Each of them has ventured off into a different sector including law, management consulting, construction, food & beverage, and jewelry.

“I'm so proud of what I've been able to accomplish and the person I've become, I unleashed a leader in me that I didn't know existed. Ms. Jo helped me discover my passion and find my confidence. I would highly recommend this Leadership Cohort for anyone wishing to grow and develop as a leader and venture into the real world!” said Ali Ajaj, grade 11 student.
