RVIS Celebrates its Eighth Graduation Ceremony

Riffa Views International School (RVIS) celebrated today its 8th Graduation Ceremony honoring the 35 graduates of  the Class of 2023. The ceremony was held at the Bahrain National Theatre, Wednesday evening, May 31st, 2023. It was attended by HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa and a number of VIP guests and dignitaries, the Chairman and Members of Board of Trustees, RVIS faculty and administration, parents, graduates, relatives and friends.

Atif A. Abdulmalik, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of RVIS proudly congratulated the graduates and wished them success in their university education, pointing out that RVIS celebrates its 15th anniversary this year, and remains a shining beacon of private education in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

“What distinguishes our ceremony this year is the fact that 12 of our 35 graduates have received their entire K-12 education at RVIS, and we are happy to see our sons and daughters receive this level and quality of education, as RVIS leads the future of education in Bahrain offering a unique personalized learning experience with a limited number of students per class,” Abdulmalik added.

Abdulmalik also emphasized that “RVIS will continue to strive to improve the private education sector and realize its vision to create a smart state-of-the-art learning environment in compliance with the highest international education standards, while preserving the customs and traditions of the Kingdom of Bahrain”. He also expressed pride and appreciation towards the trust that parents have placed in the RVIS administration and faculty, which is essential for the school to continue to excel.

Abdulmalik congratulated the graduates and their families and commended their efforts and perseverance throughout their years of education up to this day which they have eagerly awaited. He also proudly recognized the distinguished efforts of the members of the Board of Trustees and RVIS faculty and administration.

The Graduation Ceremony was opened with the graduates procession, followed by the National Anthem of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and  a recitation of the Holy Quran by student Mubarak Abdulaziz AlKhalifa. 

Jo Garrahy, Head of the School gave the opening  remarks, which was followed by the speech of the Board of Trustees. Teacher Samantha Cortez delivered the Faculty Speech. Secondary School Principal LaKeicia Denson then awarded certificates of excellence to outstanding graduates. 

Student Isabella Taylor was named Valedictorian for earning the highest GPA. Student Abdulaziz Abdulmalik received the Dolphin Award, which is given to the student who exemplifies the School's mission by participating in diverse activities exhibiting academic challenge, leadership skills and community service. Abdulaziz subsequently delivered his speech as the student speaker, stressing to not just be satisfied with contentment but rather embrace change in the pursuit of reaching happiness.  

Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Mubarak AlKhalifa, Member of the Board of Trustees, RVIS said, “The School invests great effort into developing educational and academic materials and acquiring the latest tools, and pointed out that “the School is an incubator for smart education with  a curriculum based on software development, artificial intelligence, robotics and technical thinking methods, thanks to its innovation Hub, which has made a leap forward in the School's modern teaching methods.

Jo Garrahy, the Head of School at RVIS  shared how proud she was of the achievements of the Class of 2023, she paid tribute the faculty and staff at RVIS who played a central role in not only the academic achievements but also their character development. 

Ms. Garrahy also expressed her thanks and appreciation to the parents, highlighting the importance of the strong partnership between the school and families that have contributed to the excellence the Class of 2023 has exhibited. 

Ms. Garrahy concluded her address encouraging the graduates to move forward in pursuit of academic excellence in their journey while also remembering to exhibit the values of RVIS graduates in giving back to the world.
