Celebration of Learning By Deena Alreefy Marketing and Community Relations Liaison Published: 2023-06-14 07:11:07 The Celebration of learning by Grades 4, 10, and 11 IBDP students was an exciting event that showcased the diverse range of knowledge and skills developed by the students. The day began with the full IB Diploma Program students' TOK Exhibition, which explored questions relating to how knowledge is acquired. The interactive presentations by Fatima Alsaleh and Sanubar Aliyeva, which were open to parents, faculty, and fellow students, were thought-provoking and engaging. Next, Grades 4 and 10 presented their research projects relating to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, where Grade 4 students learned research skills and found ways to work towards saving the planet, while Grade 10 students developed their research skills by evaluating and citing sources correctly. Additionally, next year's IBDP students gained valuable experience in planning, outlining, and revising their extended essays, which is an important component of their IB experience. The event culminated with the full IBDP students presenting their research process for their Extended Essays, a 4000 word independent research essay. The presentations were followed by a Q&A session with faculty and students. The day was concluded with Class of 2021 alumnus, Reem Al Khalifa, who shared her experiences of how the IBDP Extended Essay helped set her up for success in her university career. Overall, the event was a great success and demonstrated the students' hard work, creativity, and dedication to learning.
