Riffa Views International School has yet another shining star in their midst, as Grade 12 student Fatima AlSaleh has been selected to participate in the highly esteemed Candidacy Program for the Crown Prince Scholarship. This prestigious program commenced in July, encompassing a range of courses designed to enhance critical thinking, academic writing, and various skills required for higher education.

Fatima's journey began with intensive courses on critical thinking and academic writing, followed by SAT and IELTS preparation alongside comprehensive CMI (Communication, Management, and Information Technology) training. The CMI units covered essential topics such as presentation skills, effective communication, data management, and personal and professional development. The program's rigorous curriculum challenged the students, culminating in a debate and an academic essay.

The most significant task for Fatima and her fellow participants was the CMI assignment, which she recently completed. Each student had to write 2000-2500 words for four units, requiring them to step into the shoes of first-line managers—a daunting yet rewarding endeavor for high school students. While Fatima's SAT test is approaching, she recently completed her IELTS test, marking a significant milestone in her scholarship candidacy journey.

Following the completion of these tests, all candidates will undergo evaluation at the Crown Prince Court. Out of approximately 120 candidates, only 20 will be chosen as recipients. Those fortunate enough to receive the scholarship will be granted full funding, covering tuition fees, accommodation, living expenses, and more, to pursue one or more degrees in a foreign country.

Fatima reflects on her experience with great enthusiasm, highlighting the excitement and personal growth she has encountered thus far. The program has provided her with a unique opportunity to meet talented students from both private and government schools, fostering new friendships that may have otherwise remained unexplored. The learning environment at BIBF (Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance) has been a revelation, with picturesque views of Bahrain Bay and the World Trade Center visible from her classroom window.

In addition to the academic rigor, Fatima and her peers have enjoyed the facilities at BIBF, including a café offering delightful treats from Jasmis and La Chocolat. The presence of a game room, equipped with ping pong, pool, foosball, and other recreational activities, provided much-needed respite during breaks. The program struck a fine balance between preparing students for university-level studies and incorporating enjoyable team-building activities.

As the journey progresses, Fatima AlSaleh stands as an embodiment of dedication, perseverance, and intellectual growth. Her experience in the Candidacy Program for the Crown Prince Scholarship has not only equipped her for future academic challenges but has also fostered lasting friendships and unforgettable memories along the way. We eagerly await the results of her tests and wish her the best in her pursuit of this prestigious scholarship.
