This year's event was a resounding success, with 25 RVIS students participating in an engaging competition focused on leveraging the power of artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies. The day's activities were structured to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of AI and its real-world applications, particularly in the realm of financial literacy and banking. Zahi Wehbe, the Innovation Hub Director at RVIS, shared his enthusiasm for the event, stating, "Innovation Day is a cornerstone of our school's commitment to fostering creativity, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of transformative technologies. We are thrilled to have partnered with Spire Tech and NBB to deliver an exceptional learning experience for our students." The event began with an introduction to the day's activities, followed by presentations from Spire Tech and NBB. Students were then given the opportunity to research and understand the concept of AI, including tools like OpenAI's ChatGPT, and explore how these technologies could be applied to address challenges they face in their daily lives, such as managing their finances and savings. After the research phase, each team presented their findings and ideas, showcasing their ability to connect AI to their personal experiences. The event then transitioned to a focused session led by NBB, where students learned about the bank's digital solutions and explored how AI is transforming the banking industry. The highlight of the day was the final challenge, where students utilized Microsoft's Co-Pilot to refine their problem identification and generate digital solution ideas. Teams worked collaboratively to design innovative AI-powered applications, such as "PocketSaver," a mobile app that combines budget tracking, savings goals, and educational games to empower students to manage their finances effectively. The event culminated in a captivating award ceremony, where the winning teams were recognized for their outstanding contributions. RVIS, Spire Tech, and NBB were all thrilled with the level of engagement, creativity, and problem-solving demonstrated by the students throughout the day. This year's Innovation Day was a testament to the school's commitment to preparing its students for the challenges of the future. By exposing them to cutting-edge technologies and empowering them to develop practical solutions, RVIS is nurturing a generation of innovators who are poised to shape the world of tomorrow.
