By Deena Alreefy Marketing and Communications Specialist Published: 2024-11-28 00:12:03 This past week, RVIS came alive with the joy of stories, imagination, and a shared love for reading during our annual Literacy Week. From November 24 to 28, students, teachers, and parents united to celebrate the power of books through a variety of engaging activities. Each day, students embraced the spirit of reading with creative dress-up themes, from accessorizing with red to show their love of books to dazzling in neon for “Glow Into Reading.” The week culminated in a lively showcase of book-inspired costumes, with students proudly dressing as their favorite literary heroes and characters. The in-class activities brought even more excitement. The “Drop Everything and Read” sessions gave everyone a chance to pause their busy schedules and enjoy uninterrupted reading time. Parent Read-Aloud sessions added a special touch, as families shared cherished stories and inspired young readers to explore new worlds through books.Another highlight was the three-day Book Fair, which offered a diverse selection of English and Arabic titles. Students eagerly explored the fair, finding new stories to enjoy and treasures to take home.Literacy Week reminded us all of the importance of nurturing a love for reading and how stories connect us as a community. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the week such a success!
