Teacher Spotlight: Mai Al-Aryan By Ken Davis - Published: 2020-01-13 05:49:33 This week we are featuring Ms. Mai Al-Aryan who is in her 6th year of teaching Elementary Arabic at RVIS. Mai is a much loved and hardworking teacher and colleague. Ms. Mai is originally from Jordan. She completed her B.Ed in Arabic Language and Literature while studying at university in Jordan. Mai moved to Bahrain with her family around 15 years ago. When asked what she enjoys about her job, Ms. Mai said, ‘I just love working with our students. While I teach Arabic I am happy to help children learn anything”.Mai is very proud of the work she and her colleagues, Ms. Aisha, Ms. Lama, Mr. Fuad and Ms. Khulood have done to implement our Grade 1-3 Arabic Enrichment Program this year. As part of Tuesday’s IGNITE day, all Grade 1-3 students participate in the Arabic enrichment program where they have the opportunity to use their Arabic language skills in fun, motivating and meaningful ways. Through the strong Arabic program at RVIS, our students, be they native or beginning speakers of the language, connect with each other and with the culture of Bahrain. Through arts and crafts, puppetry, stories, games and songs, our youngest Arabic learners love Tuesday’s Arabic Enrichment Program.Thank you Ms. Mai for being a caring, kind and talented teacher who makes learning fun and meaningful for our students.
