This week we are featuring Ms. Rebecca Layton, who is new at RVIS this year. She is a dynamic and talented music teacher working to expand the music program at RVIS. Ms. Layton is originally from Boston, USA and has a range of music talents and overseas teaching experiences most recently in Dubai, UAE. 

Her passions are helping students find their inner musician and expanding their musical interests and helping them use music to express themselves in creative ways. 

Along with continuing the dynamic music program in elementary, she has expanded the RVIS music program by offering music at the Middle and High School levels. She also created a piano lab and started offering guitar lessons to our older students. 

When asked, her students say “Ms. Layton makes learning fun and interesting, I like how we are composing music because it gives us an idea of how music is made.”
