Secondary Back to School Night By Muneera Al Khalifa Grade 12 Published: 2021-09-22 05:51:57 For the first time in two years, Riffa Views International School opened its doors to the parent community for the Secondary Back to School Night event last Wednesday. The event emphasized strong communication and connections between parents and teachers. All secondary school leadership, faculty, and staff members were available to introduce themselves and provide RVIS families with information on the curriculum and what to expect throughout the academic year 21-22. The evening began with an introduction from Ms. Jo Garrahy, Head of School, who stated that Back to School Night “is all about making connections and forming partnerships between home and school to support the most important people in the building – our students and your children.” The secondary school hallways were alive and buzzing with activity as parents and students went from class to class. Sessions were designed as ten-minute slots, allowing families to attend teachers' presentations and connect for the first time in person. The night came to a close at the Cafetorium, where the Secondary Principal, Ms. LaKeicia Denson, thanked the families for attending. When asked about her thoughts on the night, she stated “I think it was wonderful for Riffa Views because parents haven't had a chance to come back into the building, so this was a chance for them to come, meet together, and put names to faces... I couldn't have asked for anything better.”
