International Peace and Dot Day By Muneera Al Khalifa Grade 12 Published: 2021-10-06 05:33:12 RVIS students and faculty all came into school dressed in white, the universal color of peace, to celebrate International Peace and Dot Day yesterday. Dot Day is a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and courage. Students were given the opportunity to express themselves creatively as well as make their mark on the world with their own personalized dots. In their respective advisory classes, students participated in the same celebratory activities. This included “Crafting your message of peace”, where house points were awarded to those who posted their messages. In elementary school, students communicated their own definitions of peace through a wide range of arts and crafts. Dot Day celebrations revolved around the question “How do you make your mark on the world?” Each student received a blank dot and was asked to decorate it with drawings and pictures that represent themselves. The dots were all put on display, forming a diverse picture of compassion and creativity at RVIS.
