Think Pink By Muneera Al Khalifa Grade 12 Student Published: 2021-10-27 07:20:47 In honor of breast cancer awareness month, RVIS students and faculty came to school yesterday dressed in pink. Students raised money for breast cancer research through organizing a bake sale that was available at various points throughout the day. The events and activities were organized by the Think Pink Team, consisting of students and led by Nurse Sam.As students arrived at school, they were greeted with a pink mask and a “Bee Aware” sticker. Decorated with pink ribbons made by students during advisory activities, the hallways gleamed with Think Pink support. Advisory activities also included informative games and even a lesson by Dr. Sarah Al-Reefy for the Grade 12 girls. The bake sale was run by student members of the Think Pink Team, who sold pink-frosted donuts. All proceeds from the bake sale were donated to Think Pink Bahrain, a non-profit organisation that supports breast cancer awareness, education and research. “For the first time, we really pushed the boundaries and made it all about education and raising awareness” said Nurse Sam while reflecting on the activities that took place throughout the day.
