Ramadan Giving 2020 By Kelly Carpenter Elementary Learning Support Published: 2020-04-29 06:45:20 It’s that time of year again for our 3rd Annual Ramadan Food Drive. Our school community has done such an incredible job in the past helping those in need. Due to the circumstances we are currently facing with COVID-19, we are unable to repeat the food collection project. However, we would like to take the time to recall what we have done in the past.The First Annual Ramadan Food Drive, in 2018, was a great success! Families sent in so much food that we had to find several different groups of people to share it with.First off, the two families that the school built houses for received boxes of food.Secondly, we created 80 bags of food for elderly people and distributed them at a center for elderly care.Thirdly, we donated a huge amount of food to an orphanage.The Second Annual Ramadan Food Drive, in 2019, was another success! That year we donated to Feed The Need Bahrain, which distributes food all across Bahrain.The RVIS school community can be proud of its compassion through action.
