May 24th, 2022 marked RVIS' first ever Innovation Day in partnership with LEVEL 5, Aion Digital and Ebtikar. Twenty-five students were selected from grades six to eleven to take part in this special day. The Chief Product Officer (CPO) of Aion Bank, Aamir Janjua presented three challenges to the students centered around App design, customer service and user interface and experience. Each group was tasked with developing possible solutions which they presented to the CPO and his team. The event continued with a short presentation and research on gamification which led into the final task of the day. Students had forty-five minutes to take the previous app and create ways to increase user engagement using gamification. The students presented ideas such as reward systems of reaching saving and investment goals, partnering with retail stores to earn points, and a built in trust-meter that works similar to credit scores with more user interaction. A panel of three judges asked questions, gave feedback and chose the top two teams who received medals. Special guests from the Ministry of Education attended the event and praised the school for their innovative practices and ideas. Our students rose to every challenge throughout the day, leaving a lasting impression on our visitors. A successful event that will have a lasting impact on our community.
