Student leadership is a core pillar at RVIS. Throughout a student's time at the school, there are many opportunities to develop the skills and confidence to become leaders. The Red Hat program is designed to help Grade 5 students develop these attributes and become leaders in the elementary school. Every year the students undergo a training program and take the Red Hat Pledge committing to taking care of themselves, the community, and strive to be a role model for others.

Parents and siblings joined in the ceremony and proudly watched as their loved ones received their official red hat and pin to symbolize their new role in the school. Throughout the year the Red Hat team will lead elementary assemblies, make daily announcements, be role models for their younger peers and help out at school events. Leaders of today and leaders of tomorrow!
