Field trips help students gain life experiences and foster their social-emotional and language development. A great way to get students excited about a topic taught at school is to take them on a field trip that reinforces what they are studying. Our PreK students and teachers went on a field trip to Alosra Supermarket as part of extended learning on “Healthy Food”. Some parents volunteered to join the PreK team for this exciting field trip.

PreK students and teachers had prepared a shopping list before leaving for Alosra supermarket. This taught them how to plan before going shopping and the feeling of responsibility too.

On their visit to the supermarket, the children were made to identify the types of foods found there. Our students identified healthy and unhealthy food enthusiastically. It was wonderful to see our little students moving around with tiny shopping trolleys and their shopping lists.

After returning back to the classroom, PreK teachers and students prepared a delicious fruit salad.

On the whole, it was a fun-filled learning experience for each child. We hope these experiences will help our students to make the right choice when it comes to healthy eating.
